I'm a rarity - I've not missed a Pride for 19 years and have always been involved on the periphery. I was nominated by the VBA to be their representative

What are your aspirations for Manchester Pride?

To ensure that Pride remains true to its original spirit of being a great, fun, fundraising weekend and donates as much money to HIV related causes as possible. 2009 was our most successful year to date! Despite travelling the world, Manchester is 'home' and Pride remains the highlight of my year. My happiest moments have been our annual 'tradition' of Saturday afternoon, with my closest friends and business partner watching the parade and seeing how it's grown into a worldwide, professionally organised, spectacular event.
