manchester pride
community events grant

In 2009, 16 LGBT community events were made possible through the Community Events Fund.

Grants of up to £500 are available again this year for events that take place between Friday 20 and Thursday 26 August 2010. We look for a variety of innovative and fun events and projects for the grant.

The Community Events Fund
is now closed

Please check back in early 2011 when applications will reopen.

What is the Manchester Pride Community Events Fund?

The fund is an initiative started in 2009 by Manchester Pride to raise the quality and diversity of events taking place throughout the 10 day festival, now Pride Fringe. We look for a variety of events and projects for the grant including arts, cultural activities, campaigning, political debate, health, fitness, events with a message to challenge discrimination or projects raising awareness of LGBT/HIV issues. For last year’s events (funded and unfunded) please view our 2009 Festival Brochure

We are always looking for new and innovative projects, especially projects which involve participation from the community or which open themselves up to a wider community.

The total fund is £5,000 and the maximum grant amount is £500. This will allow us to fund a minimum of 10 events for the festival. You do not have to claim the full grant amount.

Who can apply?

Funding is available for the following groups
• Local LGBT & HIV Organisations
• Promoters focusing on events for the LGBT communities
• Individuals wishing to organise events for the festival
• Community and voluntary sector organisations
• Registered charities

What are the deadlines?

Generally the grant runs from the beginning of January until the beginning of March each year. A panel of assessors meet in the second week of March to look at each application and assess it's suitability.

A festival brochure (Fringe Guide) is produced in March/April detailing all the events over the 10 days of the festival.
