Age Concern in the North West

Age Concern in a registered charity & support at local & national level OLGBT communities. We participate in Pride each year to involve & support the OLGBT community. Gods & Goddesses the theme for this year will include all people to make costumes and involve them in the parade & information stand.

Albert Kennedy Trust

This year the Albert Kennedy Trust is 20! Founded in Manchester, AKT has helped thousands of young LGBT people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment through two key services: supported lodgings and mentoring. This year we are marching to remind Manchester of everyone we've helped and to thank Manchester for its previous and ongoing support.

Baa Bar

Baa Bar will be at your services throwing a 200999 party all weekend - uniformed fun & frolics. Lucky customers can get shots from our sexy nursing staff & any naughty boys & girls will be hosed down by our fire-fighters or whipped in line from our coppers!

Barclays Bank Spectrum LGBT Group

Spectrum is Barclays Bank LGBT network. This is the sixth year Spectrum has been involved in Manchester Pride and is proud to be involved once again this year. Barclays prides itself on its community involvement and supporting both local and national charities.

The Base Youth Project

The Base Youth Project is a youth project in Stockport for LGBT young people aged 13-25. The float is a birthday celebration float as The Base is 10 years old this year.

BiPhoria

Are you bisexual? Bi curious? Or have you encountered biphobia that made you bi-furious?! BiPhoria is Manchester's social/support group for bisexual people and will be marching as the Bisexual Recruitment Army - challenging bi invisibility through the use of bad camouflage. Body Positive North West

With the wearing of the colour green - green for go. We are walking in the parade to re-enforce the message Go4it - the HIV instant test.

The Bolton family

Bolton Council, Bolton Primary Care Trust, Bolton Community and Voluntary Services, Bolton Equality Council and Bolton at Home are teaming up to celebrate the colourful diversity of the Bolton family. A fun display of Bolton heroes on a mission to promote equality for all - everyone is part of the family regardless of their gender, sexuality, race or belief.

Changing Attitude & other faith groups

Changing Attitudes & other faith groups will walk together in unity, celebrating spirituality and an inclusive God. We believe that faith can be as diverse as the people that believe and are committed to encouraging a healthy integration of spirituality, promoting equality and an inclusive attitude.

Cheshire Fire & Rescue

CFRS is working to keep people safe from fire and other emergencies. We employ roughly 1200 people which is split between operational and support staff. We cover the areas of Cheshire, Halton and Warrington. Fire appliance with a difference and a targeted response vehicle which is a midi fire appliance.

Child Action Northwest

Civil Service Rainbow Alliance

The Civil Service Rainbow Alliance (CSRA) is the cros-departmental groups that represents LGB staff in the UK Civil Service. Our walking group will celebrate diversity in the Civil Service.

The Co-Operative Group

The Co-operative Group is one of Manchester’s biggest employers and, nationally, employs 117,000 people in businesses such as Food, Travel, Pharmacy, Financial Services, Motors and Funerals. These will be represented by our 50 volunteers taking part in the Pride parade. We believe in co-operation – working together towards shared goals and sharing the benefits of our success – and in championing local communities. So we’re delighted to be taking part in a fantastic, vibrant community event right on our doorstep!

Eastlands Homes & Northwards Housing

Environment Agency

The Environment Agency's entry this year is Heroes of the Environment and it is proudly led by Tony Dean, the Environment Agency's NW Regional Director. The Agency has a strong and active diversity policy and is more than proud to be an annual supporter and participant of Manchester Pride. We will be in the parade with a Lime Green Merlot Telehandler festooned with balloons.

Essential Nightclub

Lesbian & Gay Foundation

This year we are embracing our camp side for Manchester Pride, unashamedly using everything in our dressing up box- we want you to see us coming. LGF exists to support lesbian, gay and bisexual people in the North West and beyond. Whatever you need, we're here if you need us! 40 years after Stonewall, LGBT rights still need to be fought for.

Lesbian Community Project

The LCP is the only full time project in the UK dedicated to providing social groups and support for lesbians and bisexual women. As it is 40 years since the Stonewall Riots we have decided to mark this with a Riot Grrl theme.

LGBT Labour

LGBT Labour is a socialist society affiliated to the Labour Party. Members include trade unionists and party members and it is our members who make our policies. We campaign for the Government to carry out their promises on LGBT rights.

LGBT Liberal Democrats

Liberal Democrats have been the strongest, most consistent advocates of LGBT equality in Westminster and Europe over five decades of campaigning. We're the second party across Manchester and run councils including Liverpool, Oldham, Rochdale, Burnley and Stockport. Join us on the parade and find out more at our Lifestyle Expo stall.

LGBT Parents

The three parents' groups have come together to celebrate and raise awareness of LGBT parents and the specific issues they face. We will also be running the family space after the parade which will be in the Village Square. The parents groups are Proud 2 B Parents, Rainbow Families and Northern Support.

LGBTory

LGBTory is an LGBT campaign supportive of the Conservatives. We work within the party to ensure that LGBT issues are highlighted at every level of the Conservative Party.

LGBT Unitarians

LGBT Unitarians is a loose network within the Unitarian and free Christian churches. We promote the active participation of LGBT people within the faith community.

LGYM

Lesbian and Gay Youth Manchester is the LGBT youth provision for the city of Manchester. Running for over thirty years the group has and does support hundreds of LGBT young people.

The Lowry

The Lowry opened on 28th April 2008 bringing together a wide vaariety ofperforming and visual arts under one roof. Over the next fwew months we are proud to welcome through our doors Matthew Bourne's Dorian Grey, Prick Up Your Ears starring Matt lucas and the legendary Pam Ann.

The UK's largest Bear organisation - this year's entry aims to bring together all the Heroes and Villains of our childhoods - but with a furry twist!

Manchester Amnesty International

All over the world LGBT people are being criminalised, tortured or ill-treated because of their sexuality or gender identity. Amnesty International work to expose human rights abuses and protect the defenders of human rights. Our parade entry will feature the tallest petitions ever; flags covered with actual signatures campaigning for real cases.

Manchester Frontrunners

Manchester Frontrunners will be wowing the crowd with 'mini races' in the parade. MFR offer a sociable and friendly environment for runners of all abilities to train and are open to absolutely anyone, although we aim to particularly encourage participation from the LGBT community. www.manchesterfrontrunners.org

Manchester Lesbian & Gay Chorus

MLGC exists to give people from the LGBT community in and around Manchester the opportunity to make music in a friendly safe environment.

Manchester Prairie Dogs Line Dance Club

Manchester Prairie Dogs is a diverse LGBT group which draw its membership from all ages. While its predominantly LGBT, it is not exclusively so and encourages a wide membership as possible. We aim to shuffle and twirl our way through the streets of Manchester to a country beat.

Manchester Sharks Water Polo Club

Manchester Sharks are the North of England's gay & lesbian water polo club. We're always on the look out for new players and supporters. It doesn't matter if you have experience or not, we'll show you the works!

Manfest

Manfest is a celebration of Tom of Finland as our Hero of Pride from 70's to 80's.

MCC LGBT Employee Group

Manchester City Council's commitment to LGBT issues is shown by its wholehearted support for Pride. On our bus will be the senior Councillors, Officers and workers who have helped support Pride over the years. Representatives of the employee groups will be handing out flags promoting Adoption services and also leaflets promoting Civil Partnership Services.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service are delighted to support Manchester Pride 09. We are proud to place equality & diversity at the heart of service delivery and the workplace. Merseyside LGBT Collective

Merseyside LGBT Collective is a collection of Merseyside based LGBT organisations and groups. We consist of academic staff, students, arts and theatre co-ordinators, local support groups and friends. We are the little LGBT face of Merseyside.

Met Office LGBT Network

The Met Office is one of the world's leading authorities on weather and climate change. A group of climate heroes are attending Pride for the first time to represent the Met Office in their celebration of diversity and to help you separate fact from fiction on climate change.

Mission Malawi

Mission Malawi is a biennial charity challenge which has flourished as a result of the support received from the LGBT community in Manchester. Since 2003, Mission Malawi has raised more than £250,000 for people in Malawi and Mozambique who are living with HIV/AIDS.

NASUWT

NASUWT - the largest teacher's union in the UK are proud to come out for Northwest teachers and support equality and diversity for our LGBT members. All our heroes learnt some of their skills from their teacher!

National AIDS Trust

NAT is the UK's leading charity dedicated to transforming society's response to HIV. We provide fresh thinking, expert advice & practical resources. We campaign for change.

Newcastle Ravens RFC

Established in 2006 the Newcastle Ravens have come a long way from an initial group of mates throwing a rugby ball aruond in a local park to an accomplished tam entering national and international tuornaments. The North East's only gay rugby team are now looking forward to the 2009/2010 season.

NHS NW

Collaboration of NHS Healthcare providers including NW Ambulance Services, hospital trusts, community based provision and mental health provision.

NOMS

National Offender Management Services is currently ranked 16th in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index. We are currently promoting NOMS as an employer of choice within the LGBT community.

Oldham LGBT Forum

Oldham LGBT Forum is open to all lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people living, working or studying in Oldham. This year we are celebrating our 5th Oldham Pride event on 25th July and will be bringing our giant Birthday cake celebrating LGBT diversity to Manchester Pride.

An outdoor pursuits group running a wide range of activities from camping, hostelling, hill walking and indoor climbing to the more extreme activities like gorge walking, ice climbing and technical mountain biking. A great was to expand your social network with something for everyone.

Police With Pride

Police With Pride is a LGBT group made up of police officers and police staff from Greater Manchester Police, Cheshire Constabulary, Lancashire Constabulary, Merseyside Police, Cumbria Constabulary and North Wales Police. We are joined by colleagues from other UK police forces to walk proudly through the streets of Manchester.

Quakers

Quakers are a spiritual organistaton that believes all people are equal and have a long history of campaigning for LGBT rights. The parade entry will consist of Quakers of all ages, backgrounds and sexualities marching together in solidarity with the LGBT community in support of peace and equality and welcoming of all.

The Queen

Adding the regal touch each year Her Majesty QEIII, this year accompanied by the Duchess of Galloway.

Queer Youth Network

The UK's only national peer-led organisation for young people, will be inspired this year by their personal heroes.

Rainbow Generation

Rainbow Generation unites LGBT youth groups across Lancashire. At Manchester Pride we will walk together creating a symphony of colour.

Royal Bank of Scotland

Exploring ways to integrate and accept the Royal Bank of Scotland have chose historical explorers of the South Seas for their entry. In true Pride spirit colour, fun, music and entertainment have no boundaries and so we explore ways to achieve this on out work and lives.

Salford Ladies United Temperance Society (SLUTS)

Salford Ladies United Temperance Society once again bring their protest against declining moral standards to the street of Manchester. Ever ironic, the ladies with their placards will be persuading the crowds to go home as this sort of thing is a Hebden Bridge too far!

Salford LGBT Partnerships

Salford LGBT Youth Group & Salford Youth Service in partnership with Salford LGBT Network, Salford University LGBT Staff and Salford City Council LGBT Employees present a vision in a Lycra body suit! Super Queer-o's. Marvel at our camp comic book queers!

Smooth Radio 100.4

100.4 Smooth Radio is the North West's biggest commercial radio station playing a mixture of the best and most soulful music from the past four decades. At this year's Manchester Pride, Smooth Radio invites you to step into 'Studio 100.4' and get lost in music.... caught in a trap...no turning back!

Sparkle

Sparkle is the International Transgender Celebration, held in Manchester every ear to promote awareness of and celebrate transgender. This year Sparkle will be supported in the Pride Parade by the biggest gay bus in the world, Rainbow.

Spectrum

Spectrum representing the Home Office (including UK Border Agency, Identity and Passport Service, and Criminal Record Bureau) are service providers to LGBT communities. Our 'no place like the Home Office' theme pays homage to the Wizard of Oz, demonstrating our ambition to be the best employer for LGBT people.

Stockport Homes

University Manchester Students Union LGBT Society

Students unite to reclaim the scene for everyone and put the protest back into Pride.

Utopia

Vanilla

Vanilla is the UK's favourite lesbian venue & has just celebrated it's 10th year at the top. Vanilla is the hub of the women's scene at Pride. Don't forget to party at the two big women's events Fussy Pussy & Climax.

Via Fossa - the heart of the gay village - voted top gay bar in the UK 2009 outside London voted by readers of Gay Times.

Victim Support

Victim Support is the national charity that support victims & witnesses of crime. With 500 volunteers and 100 staff in Greater Manchester alone, we're so much more than tea & sympathy (and some of us aren't little old ladies either)! Village Manchester Football Club

Village Manchester Football Club were formed in 1996 and are a Gay Men's football club with an ambition and commitment in providing all players and supporters with a competitive, yet fun approach to the beautiful game. They meet up every week for training, compete in local & national leagues and also travel to international tournaments on a regular basis. 

Village Spartans Rugby Club

The VSRC was formed over 10 years ago for gay, bisexual and heterosexual men/women to play rugby socially and competitively. We are a full member of the Cheshire RFU and about to commence our 4th season in the local league.

VINE Project

A Manchester based registered charity working to support the abandoned/orphaned children of rural South Africa - orphaned through the HIV virus. Our entry sees Blunderwoman with Dorothy's help - stamping our all the wrongs of today's society.
