RBS

RBS wishes all its customers and employees a Happy Pride!

At RBS we’re delighted to be a sponsor of Manchester Pride this year. It’s a great chance for us to say a fantastically huge thank you to all our customers and employees in Manchester and beyond. Many of our colleagues from the RBS Rainbow Network will be joining in the fun on Pride weekend in our wonderful city.

The RBS Rainbow Network is one of the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered networks in the banking sector and was established by employees for employees in order to provide support and arrange social events for LGBT colleagues within the RBS group.

RBS Rainbow Network's strength relies on our colleagues getting involved in running the network, and especially participating in and attending the events that are organised – and Pride weekend will be no exception. The excitement in planning such an event has not been lost on our Rainbow Network members or any of our Manchester-based employees, LGBT or otherwise!

                     RBS Rainbow Network

It’s community networks like these – including our Focused Women Network, supporting female talent and gender equality throughout our business – that ensure every individual who works for us is proud to do so.

“Mum, Dad, I’ve got something to tell you. I’m going into financial services.”

Explaining to family and friends why you work at The Royal Bank of Scotland Group should be relatively easy these days.

We’ve been facing our most challenging time in our 283-year history. But we have a clear goal and we’re making steady progress towards it. We’re working together to become the world’s most admired, valuable and stable bank. We’re doing this by serving our customers: offering financial products that meet our customers’ needs and ensuring our lending and investment practices are responsible. This is what’s at the heart of good banking.

With the support of three key groups: our people, our customers and our communities – and a lot of hard work – we know we’ll get there.

Serving our customers well is the foundation of everything we do at RBS. We see every day as a new chance to earn our customers’ trust. And in these tough times, we’re doing everything we can to help our customers to not only survive but thrive.

In our communities, we like to do things differently. We offer a Community Investment programme that enables our people to support the good causes that really matter to them, both financially and with their time. We make it easy for people to get involved at work through our charity partnerships, as well as recognising the contribution people make outside work through our Community Cashback scheme.

We’ve got plenty of passion

We value the diversity of our employees and are committed to creating a working environment that is inclusive to all personalities, passions and priorities in life. In order to attract and retain talent and enable employees to reach their full potential we need to embrace people's differences, whether they are related to physical characteristics, such as gender, race, age or disability, or related to their sexual orientation, beliefs and opinions.

And plenty to celebrate

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion has helped RBS chalk up a number of awards as a top employer in the UK:

  • Stonewall Top 100 Employers Workplace Equality Index for Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual people
  • No. 17 in The Times ‘Top 100 Graduate Employers’ 2010
  • The Times Top 50 ‘Employers for Women’

So join us in the carnival streets on Pride weekend!

We’re ready to fill the streets of Manchester with music, colours and fun, so come down and celebrate the parade’s ‘Best of British’ theme with us.
