GMPA Custody Visitor, GMPA Appropriate Adult, Portsmouth Special Olympics 1997 2 weeks solid, Victim Support Manchester.

Your best experience whilst volunteering for Manchester Pride? How did you hear about Manchester Pride?

My best experience is meeting lots of new faces, and new friends also the buzz of the parade build up on the Saturday morning. I heard about Manchester Pride as a resident of Manchester and also a regular in the village during the year.

How has volunteering benefited your personal development?

Being able to give something back to the village community and Manchester as a whole and meeting loads of new people and new friends

How has volunteering benefited your professional development?

Being a volunteer for various events and charity's over the years has helped me support other people from various community backgrounds but also as a professional trainer it has helped me pass on the good ethos volunteering can be.

Would you recommend volunteering for Manchester Pride?

Definitely yes charity's like Manchester Pride needs more volunteers to help make this type of event run.

Best Pride moment?

My best Pride moment is seeing everyone enjoy themselves during the build up and during the big weekend and seeing the parade floats on the Saturday morning from being a empty lorry to a bright float on the parade route, also seeing people from different backgrounds enjoying what is a certainly enjoyable day.
