Live in Your Living Room!

Live in Your Living Room!

In a bid to improve life at home for LGBTQ+ people across the world, we are delighted to announce we are creating a series of online events to kick off the weekend right.

Manchester Pride: Live In Your Living Room will see four weeks of Friday night shows made up of sets from Manchester Pride Festivals 2017, 2018 and 2019, followed by four weeks of brand new performances!

Join us this Friday at 8pm for our Queer Womxn's Takeover, a high energy house techno and electro DJ night right in your living room! Featuring DJ sets from NIMMO, Black Betty, Mix-Stress of RebeccaNeverBecky, Jungle Julia and dance performance from Ivy Profemme, the party starts at 8pm on our YouTube channel!

RebeccaNeverBecky is curator, founder and DJ Mix-Stress of the Manchester based event’s collective RebeccaNeverBecky. Through events held 2-3 times a year the collective platforms anyone that identifies as female, QTIPOC, BAME and LGBT+ providing paid opportunities to showcase their talents. Offering unique and conceptual clubbing experiences fused with art, culture and good music. Resident DJs, artists and performers that take part in each event which pull in a very diverse and inclusive audience. She has also embarked on her own DJ journey this last year playing monthly residencies on Limbo and Reform Radio as well as making her firm mark on the scene with her soulful infused sets in and out of the city."

NIMMO are a female-fronted queer electronic group from London. At the core of NIMMO is a songwriting partnership between two best friends, musicians and co-vocalists, Sarah Nimmo and Reva Gauntlett. Combining punk roots with influence from the mid-90's euphoria of their childhoods, NIMMO’s music and arresting live show reflects a nocturnal escapism that feels vital and confronting.

Black Betty is an Artist from Manchester. She has a strong passion for many genres of music and decided to put this force to use and get behind the decks.  Black Betty specialises in House music with many influxes + influences across all genres, meaning you are likely to find tribal percussive, acid synths, disco melodies and techno beats in her sets. She definitely captivates the crowd as they join her on a musical journey.
She continues to make a statement in her city and has graced the decks at most of Manchester's well-known venues as well as making appearances in Leeds and Wigan."

As an LGBTQ+ charity, in this unprecedented time, we’re making sure that we do all we can to check in with LGBTQ+ people and support them through what could be quite a tough time in isolation. We recognise that statistically, LGBTQ+ people are at much higher risk of experiencing poor mental health.

We want to bring back the joy of the performances we have hosted at Manchester Pride Festival over the past three years for our communities to enjoy from the comfort of their own living rooms and give them something to look forward to. Whether people are experiencing the current situation with family, a partner, housemates or alone, we hope Manchester Pride: Live in Your Living will be the highlight of their week.  Our huge thanks goes out to the artists that have kindly agreed to the broadcast of their performances for free in support of our campaign for greater LGBTQ+ equality

The performances will be hosted on YouTube and will only be online for a limited time so viewers need to watch it live or miss out.

With thanks to our sponsors
