Manchester Pride Festival 2021: Our boldest, queerest, most diverse and inclusive community celebration of LGBTQ+ life yet!

Manchester Pride Festival is one of the world's leading celebrations of LGBTQ+ life.

Communities and organisations across the globe look to Greater Manchester as a shining example of equality, diversity, inclusion and inspiration. We’re so proud to play a part in helping to celebrate and platform LGBTQ+ talent and achieve true equality for LGBTQ+ communities both here in Manchester and around the world.

In a time where many cities around the world haven’t been able to, we are beyond thrilled that we can celebrate with you all in person this year at Manchester Pride Festival 2021: unquestionably our boldest, queerest, most diverse and inclusive community celebration of LGBTQ+ life yet!

Today we’re delighted to reveal this year’s Gay Village Party line-up - a bold celebration showcasing some of the very best in queer local LGTBQ+ talent, with the community at the forefront and heart of our programming.

Our Gay Village Party line-up showcases an impressive calibre of diverse, exclusively LGBTQ+ artists, and we’re proud to be supporting and platforming such incredible queer talent at Manchester Pride Festival. Featuring Trans Creative & Milk presents Trans Filth & Joy, Black Pride MCR, Fat Pride, Queer Women’s Takeover, Superbia Queer Music Stage and more, you can look forward to an entire weekend of LGBTQ+ excellence from a wide range of talented performers!

A huge thanks goes out to those who purchase tickets to attend our events. Because of you, we can continue to support and empower our LGBTQ+ artists, and LGBTQ+ people in Greater Manchester and beyond, all year round. The pandemic has meant a tough 18 months for LGBTQ+ communities especially, and we’re grateful for the chance to provide vital work and opportunities to so many LGBTQ+ artists as the city and our bright and thriving local communities recover.

Manchester Pride Festival is made up of a number of inclusive and accessible events so that everyone can get involved in our celebrations over August Bank Holiday weekend. There are lots of events free to attend, and some require a ticket. Many you can attend in person and others you can access from your own home.

Our events fall under 6 key strands:

Equality - Equality Marches
Arts & Culture - Superbia Weekend
Community - The Candlelit Vigil
Party - Gay Village PartyMCR Pride Live
Activism - Human Rights Forum
Youth & Family - Youth Pride MCR and Family Pride MCR

Each year, our Manchester Pride Festival programming works to challenge isolation within LGBTQ+ communities. Manchester Pride Festival offers LGBTQ+ people the opportunity to come together and celebrate in a safe space - whether that be in person or at home. In addition to our in-person celebrations this year, we also have a wonderful range of offerings to be enjoyed from the comfort of your home. Dial-A-Pride Poem with Maya Chowdhry, as part of our Superbia Weekend programme, offers charming musings by spoken word artist Maya. Simply dial +44 800 005 3904 and choose a Pride poem, and it will be recited just for you, for free.

Greater Manchester has a legacy of promoting equality and diversity across all equalities groups and was at the forefront of promoting the rights of LGBTQ+ people in the UK. The Human Rights Forum is part of our mission to campaign for equality and amplify LGBTQ+ issues. The Human Rights Forum is a free, accessible event taking place online via Hopin, and will bring together prominent activists and thought-leaders to discuss the challenges that continue to face LGBTQ+ communities today, and what we as individuals can do to bring about political or social change.

Be sure to visit the ‘Freedom, Living Portrait Exhibition’ at Kampus Garden as part of the Superbia Weekend, comprising 10 beautiful portraits of people from the LGBTQ+ community, accompanied by an audio recording of their story. This event is held from 11am-2pm in an accessible, alcohol free space, and will also feature a special performance from She Choir, the collaborative choir for women and non binary people over the age of 18.

We’re looking forward to finally being able to celebrate with you all over August Bank Holiday weekend - we hope to see you there! You can find the full festival programme, our COVID-19 FAQs and more information at
