Update on Manchester Pride Festival
To our Manchester Pride Community
It goes without saying, these are unprecedented times with things changing hourly.
We know you’ll have plenty on your mind and thinking about Manchester Pride may not be at the top of your list. We just wanted to say hello and that we are thinking of you all.
But, it’s only natural that at some point you might ask whether the Manchester Pride Festival on August Bank Holiday will happen this year. Right now, it’s more than five months to go until the festival is due to take place. And, while no one can see the future, experts like Public Health England say the situation should be better by the end of August.
We want to reassure you that we are having lots of conversations with Manchester City Council about how we can get through the situation with as little impact as possible.
As a charity which campaigns for LGBTQ+ equality all year round, we will continue our work online throughout the period of social distancing and we invite all of you to continue to support our cause. It’s vital that our conversations remain heard.
As things develop, we’ll be keeping a close eye on Government advice and our biggest priority remains the wellbeing and safety of our employees, our suppliers and those who attend our events. We’ll make sure to keep you updated about what’s happening.
For now, stay safe and look out for each other.
