Introduction to Manchester Pride
Manchester Pride is a registered charity that campaigns for equality and challenges discrimination; creates opportunity for engagement and participation and celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) life. The charity fundraises for LGBT and HIV projects in Greater Manchester by staging a number of events throughout the year, including the award winning Manchester Pride Festival, The Manchester Pride Spring Benefit, events recognising International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) and our annual programme of culture, Superbia.
We will create space, whether virtual or physical, to enable individuals to embrace and explore their relationship with and heritage within the LGBT community.
We will raise funds for LGBT+ related causes in Greater Manchester, and provide the LGBT communities with the opportunity to provide direct input in the decision making process for the distribution of all funds raised . We will aim to remain innovative in our fundraising efforts and will maintain a diverse range of initiatives to provide a stable fundraising model.
We will run an annual campaign giving voice to Greater Manchester’s LGBT community on local, national and global issues in a supportive and proactive manner.
We will earn the trust of the LGBT community by being open and transparent. We will listen and actively seek out the views of our diverse community, helping stakeholders have a two-way conversation with us and involving them in our decision-making.
